Global IMAT Alumni Network 2.0: Expert Training for Sustainable Development
Connect. Collaborate. Create Impact.
Join the Global IMAT Alumni Network 2.0 – a two-year DAAD-funded program empowering IMAT alumni through expert training, strategic networking, and collaboration for sustainable development. Online, hybrid, or on campus – let’s build a strong, interactive network for the future.
The Global IMAT Alumni Network 2.0 is an innovative two-year program designed to foster a dynamic, international community of sustainability professionals. Funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the program offers a unique blend of networking and expert training opportunities tailored to the needs of IMAT alumni.
Through a mix of online, hybrid, and on-campus formats, the initiative aims to strengthen connections—not only among fellow alumni, but also with current IMAT students, Environmental Campus Birkenfeld with its faculties, and project partners of the Institute of Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS).
The goal is to strategically expand the IMAT alumni network into an active, subject-specific platform characterized by meaningful interaction and participation. By facilitating long-term exchange and collaboration, Global IMAT Alumni Network 2.0 lays the foundation for joint projects and shared impact in the field of sustainable development.
The DAAD-funded program IMAT Global Alumni Network 2.0: Expert Training for Sustainable Change is entering its next phase.
Following a successful reunion in 2025, as well as productive exchanges and valuable discussions with selected IMAT alumni and network partners, we have developed a range of network initiatives. These aim to strengthen connections within the community and provide continuous learning opportunities, alongside various ways for you to actively engage in this collaborative network.
The highlight of this year’s program, the IMAT Alumni Conference 2026, held alongside the International Circular Economy Week (ICEW), will take place from November 15 to November 20, 2026, at Environmental Campus Birkenfeld.
